OMG i just added an inch on my biceps and i look like JON!! =))) That was hailarious! What if i wanna add 5 inches?
Thanks bourkos! I delight in the humor and straight-forward approach.
Just want to say thanks for being so straight forward as I was the only woman weight training in a gym that other women considered not worth their while and were also worried of bulking up. I’m not bulky and look a lot more (toned) than they do. Also vital to know that women and men weight training is the same. Thanks again.
YES! Marketing is eeeviiillll….
I joined my first gym after high school and back then the “women” workouts were JF style aerobics which i loathe to this day. I was the only woman (other than the owners wife) in this strictly weight training gym. It was very satisfying when a few years later the research came out regarding the benefits of resistance training for women.
Way to go Jon!
Yeah, the roving trainer at my gym always gives the women small dinky barbie weights. When I want to go do some REAL weight lifting (which for me is 40K on the squat bar – nothing extraordinary) he always tries to stop me and take off the weight. The men? Oh, only the MEN can go for the huge power weights. It’s so annoying.
I do want to gain some extra bulk on my butt, though. Can you do a video about that?
I try to get my girlfriends to workout with me, they all say “i don’t want to get huge” and I keep explaining that they won’t. Even when I was powerlifting in my 20′s and able to curl 40#’s my biceps were only 12″ and my body looked “normal” (back when most people weren’t stout I mean).
I find it hilarious when women say they don’t want to get “huge” when they are 50+lbs overweight…what do they reckon they are now, tiny and petite? Sheesh!
Exactly! Fantastic video Jon–hope your eye heals well (just watched the video in which a bug hit your eye) I like bikes as well–esp. Harley. Anyway, I’m a female and am pretty the only one in the free-weight area, but even half the men don’t know what they’re doing! Thanks so much for all your work!
FINALLY! Someone said it!! OMG I am so tired of explaining this to women! But, since I am a huge muscular guy myself, it is a tough sell, so I have to go through the same speech that you just gave. This one will be tough to reverse, but once I clarify that is it tough to build muscle and it burns more stout than just doing cardio, they start listening! LOL
Thank again Jon for the post I will share with other women!!
Thanks Marylin! Yeah, I suppose I’m a bit schiz… ; )
I loved the video! Very informative! Although it does make you look like you are a small borderline schizophrenic! HAHA! Just kidding. It really is a fantastic video and I agree with you 100%. I’ve fallen for that women’s rap but I have also bought other workouts. Like you said same thing just different words! I like your approach. Keep up the excellent work!
This makes sense. It really removes the apprehension when needing to exercise and developing definition in my body.
I was concerned about getting bulky. I like being a woman and being feminine.
Cool this really helps.
Thanks for the relief.
OMG the glasses!
Hi Jon,
I like it. Ever reckon about entering showbiz?
Fantastic video! Vital info:)
This was a fantastic video! Like everyone else mentioned…it made too much sense.
Solid facts…thanks for sharing…I’ve always adminre your no BS approach.
Diane
Yo dude! `fantastic video, and so right… Fantastic informations for people who really want to get in shape. Women or men, whatever. I’m still laughing when women tell me “i don’t want to have the same arms like you” well no problem, even if you would like, you CAN’T… LOL (F.)
Wow – really entertaining! Nice ; )
Thanks for the mention!
I get moms asking me all the time if their husbands can use Fit Yummy Mummy too!
Such a surprise when the guys cannot keep up with the gals!
Thanks! Glad you guys are diggin’ the humor. ; )
Jon, you crack me up man! If you ever get tired of the fitness industry you could have a successful career in comedy. Superb.
Keep ‘em coming.
I still can’t get over all the women at my gym who grab 5 lb weights to do biceps curls and then come over and question me how I got such definition in my arms & legs – simple get heavier weights – somehow they reckon that the rack withthe 15 lbs plus dumbells is reserved for guys or something – they hardly touch it – I use it nearly exclusively (especially after completing your RFLB!) ps. much better lighting & color choice for your shirt
What’s incorrect with you Jon?!? You just make too much sense!!! You are not allowed to make anymore videos!!! I will run out of excuses soon if you keep this up!!! Grrr! ;p)
